Data stored on device

ChinaTong may store app preferences, selected city, home currency, travel mode, hotel name, hotel address, hotel phone number, saved phrase choices, setup choices, and Trip Vault items on the device. This information is used to personalize travel cards and keep important help available quickly.

Photos and screenshots

ChinaTong uses the system photo picker so the user can choose a specific screenshot or menu photo. The app does not access the full photo library. Text recognition is performed on device using Apple's Vision framework.

AI assistant

The app includes built-in offline guidance. If the user configures an AI API or a packaged cloud AI endpoint is enabled, messages sent to the assistant may be transmitted to the configured endpoint to generate a response. User-provided API keys are stored in the device Keychain and sent as a Bearer token only to the configured endpoint. For AI concierge features using a ChinaTong custom endpoint, requests may also include selected feature type and travel profile fields such as city, travel mode, currency, saved hotel name, saved hotel address, and saved hotel phone number when available.

The endpoint provider should not store assistant messages longer than needed to provide the service unless the user has clearly agreed.

Purchases

Version 1.0 build 6 does not include an in-app purchase flow. ChinaTong does not create a separate account for purchases.

Currency rates

The app may request exchange-rate data from an online rate provider. These requests do not require a ChinaTong account.

Tracking and data selling

ChinaTong does not sell personal data and does not use third-party advertising tracking.
