# WAVE 9 — E14 VERIFIED: 2x2 envelope ablation closes clean-room 2026-09-21 · results.json flat key `e14` · SEED=1337 Gate: two-pass byte-identical determinism + 'both'-arm keying vs published E13 (merge refuses otherwise). ## What we ran Four arms separating the two drift mechanisms in the E13 goal layer (world 1000 / 100k, 400 ticks, sinkhole @300): - neither — autopilot: goal focus held at 0.97 (the NULL: if drift persists here, it is structural to autonomous focus itself) - decay_only — forgetting only: focus erodes toward the 0.55 durability floor, min(0.32, t*0.006) - churn_only — churn absorption only: min(0.10, 0.0005 * parcel_losses) - both — E13 replay: must reproduce the published e13 numbers (keying gate) Verified deviations, decentralized arm, post-sink: | arm | dev% pre -> post @3k | dev% pre -> post @100k | |--------------|----------------------|------------------------| | neither | 2.34 -> 2.29 | 2.72 -> 3.01 | | decay_only | 2.34 -> 25.20 | 2.72 -> 27.25 | | churn_only | 2.34 -> 12.67 | 2.72 -> 13.05 | | both (= e13) | 2.34 -> 36.25 | 2.72 -> 37.36 | ## Verified findings (numbers only) 1. The null is decisive. With decay AND churn switched off, post-sink deviation stays at pre-sink levels (2.29/3.01 vs 2.34/2.72). The E13 post-silence drift is NOT an intrinsic property of autonomous focus — it is carried entirely by the two modeled mechanisms. 2. Allocation. Forgetting dominates: decay_only holds ~70% of the both-arm total (25.20/36.25 = 69.5% @3k; 27.25/37.36 = 72.9% @100k). Churn absorption is the secondary share: churn_only = 12.67/36.25 = 34.9% @3k and 13.05/37.36 = 34.9% @100k. The shares sum above 100% -> the mechanisms overlap / hand off; they are not independent additive terms. 3. E13 re-confirmed, unshifted. 'both' reproduces the published e13 numbers exactly (keying gate), e1e3/e5/e6/e7/e13 stay byte-stable, and the E13 replay under the new toggles is byte-identical (zero change to the record). 4. Caveat kept honest: goal_focus floors at >=0.55 bound drift at 400 ticks; rates are structural inside the fiction, not calibrated — same caveat as E13. ## Evidence - results.json sha256 = e38d5e059257697b2a7e807e8e41455c6d0d379c9c6d1504fbfa46bcc8b708c1 (flat keys now: e1e3 e5 e6 e7 e13 e14) - run_e14.py (two-pass driver) + merge_e14.py (determinism gate + e13-keying gate) - E14 is CLOSED on the open torch.
