PRIVACY POLICY FOR KERFLI CUT PLANNER

Abwine LTD ("we," "us," or "our") provides the Kerfli Cut Planner Android application (the "App"), identified by the package name com.abwine.kerfli.cutting. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App accesses, generates, stores, uses, and may transfer, as well as the choices available to you.

INFORMATION WE HANDLE

Information you provide

Kerfli Cut Planner lets you enter and save cutting-project information, including project names, part labels, material types, units, stock lengths, blade kerf and trim values, quantities, optional price and currency information, and other measurements. The Stock Vault lets you save offcut or remnant labels, material types, lengths, quantities, and user-entered storage-location descriptions.

You may also enter temporary Quick Cut measurements, paste cut-list text into the App, or import a Kerfli Cut Planner JSON backup, including a compatible backup created by the predecessor app name. Quick Cut measurements are used for the current calculation and are not saved by the App. Pasted or imported information is stored only when it becomes part of a saved project or Stock Vault record.

Please avoid placing personal or sensitive information in free-text fields such as project names, part labels, offcut labels, or storage-location descriptions unless it is necessary for your own use.

Information generated automatically

The App generates random local record identifiers, update timestamps, cutting-plan results, yield and waste calculations, and a local flag recording whether onboarding has been completed. These items support App functionality and local record management. They are not used to identify you across apps or services.

The reviewed release does not contain advertising, analytics, attribution, crash-reporting, authentication, payment, push-notification, or social-login SDKs. The App does not create a Kerfli Cut Planner account, connect to an Abwine LTD server, collect advertising identifiers, or transmit App data to Abwine LTD. Planning calculations are performed on the device.

If you contact us by email, we receive the email address, message content, and any information or attachments you choose to include. We use that information to respond to your inquiry or privacy request.

DEVICE PERMISSIONS AND SENSITIVE ACCESS

The App does not request access to the Internet, location, camera, microphone, contacts, phone, SMS, nearby devices, notifications, or broad device storage. It does not request any user-facing sensitive runtime permission.

Import and export use Android's system document picker. The App can read only a backup file you select for import and can write only to an export location you select. Sharing a cut report uses Android's system share chooser and occurs only when you initiate it and select a destination.

The packaged release includes system permissions and components supplied by AndroidX WorkManager for network-state awareness, wake locks, device-restart notifications, and foreground-service support. The reviewed App source does not schedule a Worker, use those components to collect user information, or use them to transmit user data.

HOW WE USE INFORMATION

The App uses the information described above to:

provide cutting calculations and visual cutting plans;
save, display, edit, and delete projects and Stock Vault records;
consider saved remnants when generating plans and update the Stock Vault when you commit a plan;
create, import, and export Kerfli Cut Planner backups;
create a plain-text cut report that you can share through an app or service you choose;
restore eligible App data through Android's backup or device-transfer features when those features are enabled; and
respond to messages you voluntarily send to our privacy contact email.

SHARING AND SERVICE PROVIDERS

We do not sell or rent information from the App. Because the App does not connect to an Abwine LTD backend, Abwine LTD does not receive your projects, cut lists, Stock Vault records, Quick Cut inputs, or calculated plans through normal App use.

Information may leave the device in the following limited circumstances:

Android backup and device transfer. The App is configured to include its DataStore file, which contains saved projects and Stock Vault records, in Android cloud backup and device-to-device transfer. If backup is enabled on your device, Android may upload that data to the backup service associated with your device account and later restore it. On supported Android devices using Google backup, this may involve Google Drive. Availability, security, retention, deletion, and restore behavior are controlled by Android and the applicable backup provider.

User-directed export and sharing. When you export a backup, the selected document or cloud-storage provider receives the JSON backup. A backup may contain all saved project and Stock Vault fields, along with local record identifiers and update timestamps. When you share a cut report, the selected destination receives the report, which may include the project name, material, measurements, price-based calculations, part labels, remnant labels, and plan results. The receiving service handles that information under its own privacy terms.

User-directed import. When you choose a file for import, the App reads that file through Android's document picker and replaces the locally stored project and Stock Vault lists with valid data from the file. The file provider may independently process access to that file under its own terms.

Email. If you contact buchinn4@gmail.com, Google provides the email service and processes the message under Google's privacy terms.

The App uses AndroidX libraries for interface, lifecycle, local storage, and Android integration. The reviewed configuration does not include a third-party SDK that independently sends App usage or user-entered data to its provider.

DATA RETENTION

Saved projects and Stock Vault records remain in the App's private storage until you delete an individual record, clear the App's storage, or uninstall the App. Uninstalling or clearing local storage removes the on-device copy, but an existing Android backup may remain under the backup provider's retention rules and may restore data after reinstallation or device setup.

Exported backups and shared reports are separate copies outside the App. They remain with the location, app, service, or recipient you selected until deleted there. The App cannot delete those external copies.

Emails sent to our privacy contact are retained only as long as reasonably necessary to respond to the inquiry and handle related support, security, or legal needs.

DATA SECURITY

Kerfli Cut Planner stores saved project and Stock Vault data in app-private Android storage. The release does not request Internet access and does not send this data to an Abwine LTD server. File access for import and export is mediated by Android's document picker, and report sharing is mediated by Android's share chooser.

Android backup providers and user-selected storage or sharing services apply their own security measures. You are responsible for protecting exported backup files, choosing trusted sharing destinations, and avoiding sensitive information in free-text fields. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

YOUR CHOICES, DATA REQUESTS, AND DELETION

You can delete saved projects from the Projects screen and saved remnants from Stock Vault. You can remove all on-device App data by clearing Kerfli Cut Planner storage in Android settings or uninstalling the App. You can control Android backup through your device or account settings, subject to the options offered by your device and backup provider. To delete an exported backup or shared report, use the controls provided by the location, app, service, or recipient that holds the copy.

Kerfli Cut Planner does not offer or require an account, so there is no Kerfli Cut Planner account to delete. Because Abwine LTD does not receive App records through normal use, we cannot view, correct, export, or delete data stored only on your device or in a destination you selected. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

Kerfli Cut Planner is a workshop and project-planning utility intended for users who plan and perform cutting work. It is not specifically designed or directed to children. The App does not transmit personal information to Abwine LTD during normal use.

CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy when the App or our data practices change. We will post the updated policy and revise the effective date above.
